Kimia , the forthcoming album by EPiQE, represents the transformational and alchemical side of Pietro Straccia’s artistic world.
While Alba is the dawn, the awakening, the intimate beginning, Kimia feels like the process of refinement , the fire, the reaction, the metamorphosis.

Recorded by Travis Kasperbauer and Pietro Straccia at Lucky Recording Co (Brisbane, California) and EPIQE studios (Sugano, Italy). Mixed and Mastered by Travis Kasperbauer.

Kimia’s production style is stripped down, black/white, less is more. A 60’s Silvertone, pawnshop find, plugged into a Fender Twin Reverb from the same decade are the backbone of the record.

A handful of stellar guest musicians have graced the album on Bass with performances by Lee Burik (Kaliginous), Joe Gore (Tom Waits, PJ Harvey), Eric McFadden (Sgt. Splendor, Les Claypool, Joe Strummer), Angeline Saris (Angelex) and Mark Stoermer (The Killers).
